3. Send It to Your Client

Goal: deliver the request to Jordan by magic link and arm the reminder automation.

Time: ~3 minutes

Steps

  1. Look at the action bar at the bottom of the composer. You have two paths:

    • Save — a dropdown with Save as draft (keep working later; drafts are not visible to the client) and Save as template (reuse this document list for future clients).
    • Save & Send — save and deliver to the client in one step.
  2. Click Save & Send and choose With magic link. The other options:

    • With secure magic link — same delivery, but Jordan must also enter a one-time verification code before the request opens. Use this for sensitive matters.
    • Without magic link — only available for a client who has already been notified before.
  3. What Jordan receives: a branded email (or SMS/WhatsApp, if you set that notification preference on the client) containing a magic link. Clicking it opens the request portal directly — no account, no password, nothing to install.

  4. Reminders are now armed. Because you set Reminders → Every 3 days in part 2, FileOnion automatically emails Jordan on that schedule while the request is open — no follow-up emails for you to write.

  5. Resending later, when a client misplaces the email: open Requests, find the request card, and use its action menu — Resend Request or Resend Secure Link. Editing an already-sent request also offers a Resend button.

Checkpoint

The composer closes and the request appears in your Requests list as sent. Open Kanban Board in the sidebar: the card for "2025 Tax Preparation — Jordan Ellis" sits in the first stage, New, with status Sent.
